Copper Prints

Through the study of wrinkles, time, patterns in nature, and age, the artist created a series of plates focusing on facial features. She continued her intrigued with her organic surroundings through studies of scenes in nature. As a self portrait, to accompany the etchings of faces, an etching of her finger prints was done to compliment an etching of the artist’s eyes.
The artist’s interest in the similarities between the wrinkles of time and the rings of a tree fueled this project. She wanted to show the connection between nature and humans, how the latter arouse from their surrounds and it is to their natural surroundings that they ultimately return.
